Description:A Leek & Manifold Light Railway carriage in the crimson lake livery of the London, Midland and Scottish railway (LMS).
The engines and rolling stock on the Leek & Manifold Light Railway, were in a colonial style, having been designed by E.R. Calthrop who had worked on light railways in India. The coaches were designed with tourists in mind, and were finished in primrose yellow, had large windows to view the scenery and open balconies at each end.
The railway had a short lifespan, running between 1904 and 1934. The route of the railway is now a footpath and cycle way.
