Top left: centre right is ‘The Old Cottage’, a 15th century Grade II listed building which stands on the junction of Bellbrook and Market Place. On the right the view looks along Market Street towards Crown Bridge. On the left is the sign for the Horse and Jockey public house and on the right is the former Post Office and several shops.
Lower left: in the foreground on Bellbrook are the village stocks and in the background the early 19th century Old Gaol which was the village lock-up. The building was carefully restored by Penkridge Civic Society in the late 1990s and opened as Penkridge Heritage Centre on 31 July 2000. On the right is the Cross Keys public house by the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal and next to Filance Bridge (Bridge 84).
