Description:This postcard view shows the “Intro” to the Staffordshire Home Guard March, with words and music by George Hart.

“We are the Twen-ty Sec-ond Staf-ford-shire Home Guard Stead-y and Strong as we march along and no fit men are barred, we nev-er- shirk our du-ties No mat-ter what they may be, So you come a long And help this hap-py throng to de—fend our Old Coun-try”.

The Staffordshire Home Guard Quick March is thought to have been composed by George Hart, Conductor of the Wolverhampton Home Guard Band (Staffordshire) during March 1942.
