Description:The Gothick style Tong Castle and its grounds were designed by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown in 1764-65 for George Durant. In 1854 the house passed to the Earl of Bradford of neighbouring Weston Park. It was severely damaged by fire in 1911, and remained a shell until its demolition in 1954. The M54 now runs through the site.
