Description:Wetley Rocks and Cheddleton School children at Westwood Manor, Wetley Rocks. Over 400 children were entertained at Westwood Manor to celebrate the wedding of the Earl and Countess Sondes. Emma Beatrice Wallace, the widow of James Meakin of Westwood Manor married Lewis Arthur Milles, 3rd Earl Sondes on 9 September 1913. James Meakin had died on 12 August 1912. After this photograph was taken the children were treated to a meal in a large marquee.

Westwood Manor was built for William Meakin the pottery manufacturer in 1875. The house was presented to Staffordshire County Council by Enoch Haughton in 1944, in memory of his wife Cicely, to be used as a school. The Cicely Haughton School is a school for children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.
