Description:Portrait of Mr T.H. Cope of Huddlesford Grange, near Lichfield.

Thomas Harold Cope was born on 23 March 1911 at Longdon, near Lichfield. His father Daniel Cope was a miller at Brookend Mill, Longdon. In 1932 he married Vera M. Sharrod at St. Chad's Church, Lichfield and by 1935 he was farming at Huddlesford Grange. Their son Thomas Anthony Cope was tragically killed, aged 9, in 1940, riding his pony. At Huddlesford Grange he gained a high reputation at his farm of 323 acres were he had a Pedigree British Friesian dairy herd and also bred Suffolk horses, Suffolk sheep and Essex pigs. By 1949 he had five farms and was a council member of the British Friesian Cattle Society. He died on 14 February 1994, aged 82.
