Description:Mrs Yeo, Miss Dale, Miss Yeo and 'D' (Daisy?) standing and sitting by Uttoxeter photographer Gerald McCann's Triumph combination motorcycle, during a visit to Walsall. We believe these people to be, from left to right: Mrs Emily Dale, Miss Cecilia Dale, Miss Edith Yeo. We have not been able to identify 'D' who travelled with Gerald McCann from Uttoxeter.

This photograph is believed to have been taken at St Mary on the Mount Roman Catholic Church, Walsall on the occasion of a visit by Gerald McCann and 'D' to see Edith Yeo and Cecilia Dale. Cecilia Dale (born Colwich, 1892), was known to the Yeo family and married Wilfred Yeo (Emily's son and Edith's brother) in Walsall in January 1922. Emily was the widow of Henry Dovell Yeo. Her daughter Edith was born in 1896.

The priest of the church was the half-brother of Edith and had been incumbent from “just after the Armistice”. So this photo likely 1919-20?. Cecilia and Wildrid Yeo married 1922 so she was a Miss until then. Edith married 1927 so she qualified too.

Photographer: Gerald McCann of High Street, Uttoxeter.
