Description:A postcard view of a quiet scene on Horse Fair in Rugeley. On the left is Wigham’s Stores with their delivery cart parked on the road. On the shop front there are two signs, one is for Wigham’s Stores and the other reads Seabrook. The shop was run as a grocers by the Seabrook family from around 1868 until 1904, when two members of the family, William Seabrook, passed away in 1899 and the Robert Seabrookin 1905. Wigham’s Stores is thought to have taken over the business around 1903 to 1905 and at the time of this picture both names were kept during the transition of the business. Wigham’s also ran a grocery and provisions business in Hednesford.

This postcard was published by John Walker & Co. Ltd. London. It was posted and franked on 12 August 1905 in Rugeley and sent to an address in Hook, near Winchfield, Hampshire.
