Description:Needwood House was built in the early 19th century. It was owned by Hamar Alfred Bass (1842-1898) and his son Sir William Bass (1879-1952) and often leased to tenants and used as a hunting lodge. After Sir William's death it was purchased by his daughter Nellie Ann Bass (Baroness Burton). It was sold after her death in 1962.
