Description:This is a photograph of the cars carrying King George V and Queen Mary through the village of Betley during their tour of the north of Staffordshire on 22nd and 23rd Apri 1913.

Betley was once an important market town and was recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086. The wall on the right hand side of this photograph is that of Betley Hall. The South Gates of Betley Hall can also be seen, along with the roof of Betley Hall Lodge behind the wall.
