Description:Landon’s Fish & Chip Shop at 1, High Street (later Uttoxeter Road), Longton. The metal grid on the pavement was lifted to lower potatoes down into the cellar below. As the route of the original A50, Market Street and Uttoxeter Road were very busy commercial areas of Longton in the 1950s, where there were situated many shops, public houses pottery works.
