Description:This postcard view looks north-east along Market Street towards the Market Square. On the right is the International Stores which in later years was demolished and replaced by the City Arcade shops. Also on the right and above the building with two gables facing the street there is a glimpse of the spire of St Mary’s Church in nearby Market Square. This building along with many others in the scene remains (September 2020) although their ground floors have changed over the years.

This postcard was published by Valentine’s.
