Description:This postcard view looks north-east along Sandford Street in Lichfield. On the left is a part view of what is thought to be the Tankard Inn; the adjacent building has a sign of the Lichfield Brewery Co., Ltd. who owned the Tankard Inn and several other Inns around the City. In the centre distance there is a glimpse of the George Hotel in Bird Street. In later years many of the buildings on the left and the right of this scene have been demolished and replaced, however, a few remain including the three-story building on the right with it’s gable-end facing the street and below the shop front has carved brackets above the shop window which are still in situ (July 2020).

This postcard was published by Valentine’s. It was franked in Lichfield on 20 November 1907 and sent to an address in Brocton.
