Description:This postcard view shows eight Police Officers standing outside the entrance of the former Police Station on Cannock Road, Hednesford. In later years the building changed use during redevelopment of the site.

Staffordshire Constabulary became established in 1842 as the main police force for the county. The force had several name changes over the years and was initially Staffordshire Constabulary from 1842-1929, Staffordshire County Police from 1929-1967, Staffordshire County and Stoke on Trent Constabulary from 1968-1974 and from 1974 to date (June 2020) Staffordshire Police.

This postcard was franked in Chadsmoor and later on the same day in Stafford on 3 November 1906. It was sent to an address in Little Haywood.
