Description:Stone Railway Station was built in 1848 between two railway lines, Norton Bridge and Colwich (on the London line). It was built in the Jacobean style of architecture by H.A. Hunt, which was so often typical of the North Staffordshire Railway Company. Other noteworthy examples include Sandon and Stoke-on-Trent Stations.

The first passenger train to use the Station left Stoke on Trent for Norton Bridge on 17 April 1848, drawn by No. 1 engine 'Dragon'.

This view looking northeast was taken (before electrification) on the Norton Bridge platforms near to the junction with the Colwich platform which is just visible on the right at the back of the Station building. The Station building was renovated in 2003-4 for use as a community centre.
