Description:Around 400 people attended the annual charity ball held at the Lotus Hall in Stone. The event was organised by the Sports and Social committee of the Stone Police Division and proceeds from the function went to the County Police benevolent fund.

Among those present were Assistant Chief Constable, Staffordshire, Mr S E Peck and Mrs Peck; Superintendent and Mrs L Hobson, Inspector and Mrs R Hazell, Superintendent and Mrs L Burton (Uttoxeter), Superintendent and Mrs P Cook, (Longton), Inspector and Mrs Buxton, Inspector and Mrs Mitchell (Stafford), Mr Arthur Swanwick (Chairman of Stone Urban District Council) and Mrs Swanwick and Dr Clifford Arthur (Police Surgeon) and Mrs Arthur.
