Date:1908

Description:A postcard view of Radford Cottage which stands at the southern end of The Avenue, formerly Gower Street, Stone. Built around 1898, at the time of this photograph it was the home of William Joseph Godwin Farlow (1865-1927), who was assistant overseer, collector of rates and the Queen's taxes, collector to Stone Urban District Council, and to the guardians and school attendance officer. He lived here with his wife Annie and seven children, the eldest of which, Ethel (born 1890) probably sent this postcard.

On the reverse there is a message wishing the recipient “Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year”. This postcard was franked in Stone on 24 December 1908 and sent to an address in Stone.
