Description:A postcard view looking north along Longton Road, Stone, which was published by T. G. Adie & Co. of High Street, Stone. On the left is Ivy Mill. The house on the right is Ivy Cottage.

Ivy Mill, also known as Oulton or Oil Mill, was one of many mills powered by the Scotch Brook in the Moddershall Valley. Built 1740, at different points in its history it was used to grind linseed, bone and flint. Flint grinding ceased in 1966, although Stuart Roy and Co. Ltd. continued to use the arks, wash tubs and drying kiln until 1977, processing material processed by their cylinder mills at Cheadle.
