Date:1902

Description:A postcard view of St. Dominic's Roman Catholic Church on Margaret Street, Stone. The nave was designed by Charles Hansom and built in 1852-54. The east end by Gilbert Blount was added in 1861-63. To the right can be seen the Convent, built between 1852 and 1863.

This early postcard dates from the first few years of the 20th century. Due to the Postal Regulations at the time it was only possible to write a message on the photograph side of the postcard; in this case in the white space below the picture. The reverse of the card was only for the address. During late 1902 the Postal Regulations changed and it became possible to write a message on the same side of the card as the address.

This postcard was published by T. G. Adie, Stone. It was franked on 11 April 1902 and sent to an address in Stafford.
