Date:1910

Description:A postcard view of Dean Street in Brewood with a 'New Years Greeting' added to the picture. There is a similar message on the reverse. This view looks towards the top of Dean Street, near its junction with School Road and Church Road. The gate on the right leads to the churchyard and the Church of St. Mary and St. Chad. The building with a porch, near the top of the street, is called the Chantry and was built in 1712. The similarly large building to the left of the Chantry is West Gate, an impressive three-storey house dated 1723. In the centre is a village postman with his bicycle.

This postcard was franked in Brewood on 31 December 1910 and sent to an address in Berkhamsted.
