Description:The title on this postcard is ‘The Tavern, Denstone’, but it actually shows the Royal Oak Inn. The sign on the building advertises that the inn sold Buntings ales, choice wines and spirits and provided good accommodation for visitors, plain teas and good stabling. The Royal Oak Inn stood in Oak Road, Denstone.

This postcard was published by W Shaw, Burslem. It was sent from and franked in Denstone on 15 November 1913 with ‘Birthday Greetings’ to an address in Manchester.
