Description:This postcard shows Meaford Old Hall Farm on the right. Brewer John Joule died here on 2 May 1858. The oldest parts of this Grade II listed building are timber farmed and date from the 16th century and there are 17th and 19th century additions. It was restored in the 1980s.

On the left is a glimpse of signals and a railway line which at the time of this view was part of the North Staffordshire Railway.

On the reverse there is a message from the sender “Thanks very much for sending the Easter egg. It arrived safely and caused quite a lot of excitement. We are having a very jolly Easter”.

This postcard was published by T G Adie & Co., Stone. It was franked in Stone on 24 April 1905 and sent to an address in Colwyn Bay. North Wales.
