Description:The Park is situated on Cross Street, Cheslyn hay was built in about 1850 for Edward Sayer, owner of the Coppice Colliery. Henry Hawkins, the founder of the local tile making business, purchased the house as his family home in 1878. He died in 1925 and his family continued to live there until 1964.

This family group is pictured at the steps to the house's front entrance. The house is still recognisible today (2023)
