Description:A postcard view of Brocton looking from The Green towards Chase Road with Old Acre Road to the right. The two Military Police Officers in the picture are possibly from the nearby Brocton Camp. Whilst the military camps were being built they created a great deal of interest and many members of the public used to go there to view the construction. The facilities there were superior to many towns and villages. The guards were positioned to restrict only essential personnel. Access to the camps was almost impossible to control and many a local child was chased away as they collected cap badges of the various regiments that were stationed there.
