Description:This postcard advertises Martin’s Patent Cultivators and shows a horse-drawn cultivator breaking up stubble. It was produced by Martin's Cultivator Co. of Stamford, Lincolnshire, manufacturers of agricultural machinery and motor cultivators. It has been over-printed to advertise the services of Howard C. Plant, Implement Agent at Wolseley Bridge near Stafford.

Howard Charles Plant was born in 1874 in Gayton. In the 1901 he is listed as living with his father (also Howard Plant, Postmaster, farmer and blacksmith) and family at the Post Office, Wolseley Bridge and his occupation at the time was blacksmith. He later became a farmer, blacksmith and implement agent and at Wolseley Bridge. He died in 1963 in Colwich.
