Description:A view of the Longford Crossroads on Watling Street (A5), Cannock. The proprietor of the filling station was Mr J. Astbury, who also ran a Bridgetown based haulage business. Power, Shell and National Benzole fuel brands are for sale at the pumps. Some prices can be seen: Power at 1s 2d (6p) per gallon and Power Premium at 1s 4d (7p). The petrol price and the fuel companies indicate that this view dates from between 1928 and 1931.

Beyond the petrol station can be glimpsed Longford House, home to the Gilpin family, locally based edge tool manufacturers.
