Description:Stafford Hockey Club pictured outside the pavilion at the Hough, Stafford. In the centre of the back row is Henry Twigg (1843-1914) of Weeping Cross House, Stafford, and in the centre of the middle row is his son W.H. Twigg who was club captain.

Walter Hanbury Twigg was born at Weeping Cross on 6 May 1883. He was educated at Repton School and at Kings College, University of London and trained as an electrical engineer. He died in Stafford on 5 February 1963. A talented sportsman, he represented Stafford and Staffordshire at cricket and hockey, and was an England hockey international, playing for his country on 8 occasions in 1909 and 1910.
