Description:One of many ancient and large trees which formerly stood in Bagot's Park. This tree is a lime and its branches are layering. This is one of the ways in which trees can reproduce. Where the branch touches the ground it may start to root and a new tree will grow. The lower branches of trees are usually grazed by livestock and deer so layering is only seen where trees have been protected from grazing animals.
