Description:Based on map and documentary evidence , this view shows a suggested reconstruction of the Anglo-Saxon settlement at Catholme, near Burton-on-Trent. The image is overlaid on the original archaeological plan of the site (since destroyed by quarrying) in an effort to show accuracy. Site features include a wooden dwelling building and encircling earthworks.This reconstruction is the work of Ben E Cunliffe.
