Description:Trinity Methodist Church in George Street, with Bass Brewery lager storage towers on the left. George Street Chapel was built in 1860 in an Egyptian style designed by Thomas Simpson of Nottingham, as a United Methodist Free Church. In 1972 the congregations of Byrkley Street Methodist Church, Cross Street Presbyterian Church and High Street Congregational Church moved to George Street Chapel which was accordingly renamed Trinity Free Church. By 2000 it was a joint Methodist and United Reformed Chapel. The church closed in 2011.
