Description:A typical Sunday morning Parade at Rugeley Camp during World War I, where the Regimental Band would play well-known hymns for the troops. The large building is the Regimental Institute where the lower ranks would take refreshments, the Corporals had their own bar whilst the main room was for the majority. The Sergeants had a separate building off the parade ground nearby. The open fronted building to the left is a vehicle shed. Interesting to see the Band drum kits are stacked in front of the troops and that the clergy stand on a makeshift podium in order to be heard. To the left, standing on a box is the band leader orchestrating his musicians. The monotonous rows of huts trail off into the distance. This was one of the twenty Battalion Lines at Rugeley Camp that would no doubt be having a similar service at the same time.
This postcard was sent in 1918 from Rugeley to an address in Coventry.
