Description:Senior Police Officers are pictured during an inspection of officers and horses from Staffordshire Police’s Mounted Branch. At the time of this photograph (with a glimpse of stables in the background) the location was in an area between Martin Street, Eastgate Street and Tipping Street, which was close to the Chief Constable's former Office on the corner of Martin Street and Eastgate Street in Stafford. Also in the background are the offices of Staffordshire County Council and a part view of the roof of the nearby County Buildings in Martin Street.
Sgt Jack Briars is on the left hand Police Horse 'Grey Dawn' and middle is PC Les Burbridge on Police Horse 'Grey Friar'. The Inspector standing is Bill Greenland. Standing far left is believed to be Chief Constable Arthur Morgan Rees.
