Description:The ornate early twentieth century office building of Keeling Walker Ltd on the corner of Sutherland Street and Whieldon Road in the Mount Pleasant area of Fenton. Above the oriel window is a tile plaque showing a smoking bottle oven. By 1916, Keeling Walker were large scale producers of chemicals for the pottery industry. Later they came to specialise in tin oxides for ceramic pigments and glazes. Today they manufacture tin oxides for a wide range of industries. The works continue along to the right, sometime known as the Sapphire Chemical Works. To the left, the houses have been demolished and the works expanded.
