Description:The Memorial Hall was built in 1922, on land donated by Lord Lichfield, as a memorial to men from the village who fell in World War 1. The Hall is decorated to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of King George V and Queen Mary in May 1935.

The building on the right of the hall was erected by the 2nd Earl of Lichfield in 1869 as a Working Men’s Reading Room and Library. During World War I it became known as the Men's Institute. In 1969 it was became Great Haywood Men’s Institute and Sports and Social Club.
