Description:John (Jack) Davies of Colwich was a gunner on Defensively Equipped Merchant Ships (DEMS) during World War II. He was awarded the D.S.M. in 1945 and was presented with it by King George VI at Buckingham Palace. Pictured with John are his mother Sarah Davies, and his wife Harriet (Nancy) Davies.
