Description:A busy scene in Market Square looking south towards Lower Brook Street in Rugeley. The man on the corner by the Cabin, not wearing a hat, is Mr Watson. In later years this area was pedestrianised, however, most of the buildings in this view remain. On the left behind the Green Bus Company single decker bus is a sign for the Nat West Bank, followed by Fry’s Newsagents, Taylors Cake Shop and Dewhurst Butchers. On the right is John Keys shop and the Cabin public house (later known as the Vaults).
