Description:Longton Bus Station was built in the Second World War. The bus shown here is PMT Guy L231 (registration AJA 199) that had been new to North Western Road Car Co of Stockport during the war. The bus was one of several exchanged for some non-standard (for PMT) Bristols in 1947. The original utility body was removed and replaced by this new Northern Counties body in 1954 to extend the life of the sound chassis.
