Date:1962

Description:Midland Red generally built their own buses in the pre- and post-Second World War periods, but at times after the war, their workshops could not keep up with demand and the company had to purchase buses on the open market. Seen here in 1962 opposite Stafford Railway Station bound for Acton Trussell is 3177 (registration JHA 78) one of 100 AEC Regent IIs, this one bodied by Metro-Cammell fitted with a radiator grille similar to Midland Red’s own built buses. The bus was unusual in the batch because the front upper deck windows were provided with pull out ventilators.

The County War Memorial can be seen behind the bus.
