Description:Rugeley Cricket Club 1st XI. Back row, far right is Percy Heasman. Front row, 2nd right is Mr Page, PE teacher at Hagley Park Comprehensive School.

Rugeley Cricket Club's ground is on Chaseley Road. It is not known how long cricket has been played here, but matches were being played at the Stone House Field, which is probably the same ground, by 1873. Rugeley Cricket Club was in existence by 1849 and was re-founded on a more secure basis in the early 1880s. The outbreak of War in 1914 led to cricket being suspended and the club did not re-commence until after World War II in 1947. The pavilion was rebuilt and doubled in size in 1958.
