Description:The view from Etching Hill, looking towards Cannock Chase. On the outskirts of Rugeley, Etching Hill is a well-known viewpoint on the north-eastern edge of Cannock Chase and has a distinctive, flat sandstone top.

The base of the hill was the location of General Lysons' headquarters during the Autumn Military Manoeuvres of 1873.
