this postcard features a sketch by Ernest C. Toye. Mr. Toye was born in Sussex and gained his B.A. at King’s College, London. He trained to be a teacher at St. Paul's College, Cheltenham and taught there for a year before coming to Rugeley in 1931 to teach History and Latin at the Grammar School. Mr. Toye had enthusiasm and a great love of history. He lived life to the full; in addition to being a teacher, a historian and a philosopher; he was also a poet, artist and sportsman.
