Description:Replacing a smaller 1873 chapel, the Bourne Primitive Methodist Chapel was built in 1899-1900 by T. Mason of Hednesford on the corner of Hednesford Road and Chapel Street. It some seated 400 worshippers and had extensive vestry and classroom accommodation.

In the early 19th century Hugh Bourne was famed for open-air preaching and especially associated with Mow Cop. Dismissed from the Weslyn community together with William Clowes of Tunstall, the 'Ranters' commenced the Primitive Methodist movement in 1811. This Chapel is still in use (2018). Bourne visited the Cannock area in 1810 at the invitation of Mr David Buxton of Cheslyn Hay.
