Description:Taken in the High Green area of Cannock. Behind the boys can be seen Linford's store, now (2018) a Wetherspoon's public house, 'The Linford Arms'. On its right is 'New Hall' built in 1891 primarily as a Sunday School for St. Luke's Church but later becoming a cultural meeting hall. To its extreme right is the Post Office.
The gentleman standing on the left of this postcard picture is said to be Mr Harry Withington, proprietor of the 'Cannock Advertiser' newspaper. His premises were to the left of the row of buildings.
