Description:Thomas Gray(ling?), 11th Green Howards (Alexandra, Princess of Wales's Own Yorkshire Regiment). He is wearing 'Hospital blues' and appears to have an arm injury. The 11th (Reserve) Battalion Green Howards were based at Rugeley Camp on Cannock Chase from August 1915 until September 1916, when they were absorbed in the Training Reserve Battalions of 1st Training Reserve Brigade.
