Description:This Staffordshire Newsletter photograph of several Buses is thought to have been taken at the old Midland Red Stafford Depot was which hidden away in Pilgrim Place off the Newport Road in Stafford.

Registration number FHA 481 centre left was withdrawn from service in 1958 and VHA 436 on the right was new in October 1955.

The Stafford Depot opened in Pilgrim place in November 1921 until it was demolished in February 1992 following a fire. The Depot moved to Silkmore Lane followed by Common Road in Stafford until around 2016 when the operations were moved to Cannock.

Midland Red generally built their own buses in the pre- and post-Second World War periods, but at times after the war, their workshops could not keep up with demand and the company had to purchase buses on the open market.
