Description:Crowds watching Bill Edrich in the nets at Stafford Secondary Modern Boys' School, Dartmouth Street, Stafford. Middlesex and England cricketers Dennis Compton, Bill Edrich and Jack Young demonstrated their batting skills on a new lightweight concrete pitch at the school in front of an invited audience of local club cricketers and schoolboys from Dartmouth Street School, King Edward VI School, and Stone Secondary Modern Mixed School. Dormans' Tixall Road factory can be seen in the background.
