Description:Michael Arthur Bass, 1st Baron Burton, brewer, Liberal party politician and benefactor of Burton upon Trent.

Lord Burton was born on 12 November 1837, at the Bass family town house, 136 High Street. He was a Member of Parliament between 1865 and 1886. He died at Chesterfield House, his London property, on 1 February 1909, and is buried in Rangemore churchyard, adjoining the family estate.
