Description:Outdoor and indoor staff at the Keele Estate pictured with Colonel Ralph Sneyd (1863-1949). Keele Hall can be seen in the background.

Colonel Sneyd is standing centre wearing a hat. The woman standing next to him, holding a dog, is probably his third wife, Dorothy Charlotte Sneyd, nee Miller (1907-1985).

Behind him to the right wearing a white coat is Jane 'Jenny' Siegmund who was the Head Cook. To the right is her husband Ferdinand Siegmund, Colonel Sneyd's butler. The men to the left of Colonel Sneyd are all foresters with the Head Forester, George Anderson, on the far left. The men to the right of the photograph are all gardeners.

Photographer: William Parton of Newcastle-under-Lyme.
