Date:8th of October 1952

Description:At 6am on 8 October 1952 the driver of a British Railways Bedford O series lorry lost control of his vehicle and crashed into Mrs Skinner’s greengrocer’s shop. The driver, Richard Morris Davies of Albrighton, was trapped in his cab but was freed by Mr and Mrs Kinnersley who heard his cries for help, Fortunately, no-one was seriously injured in the accident. In the background is the Eagle Inn on the corner of Small Lane and Newport Road.
