Description:Engineers in the test room at Castlegate Telephone Exchange, Eastgate Street. From left to right: Reg Woolley, Roy Daniels and Ron Davies. Their job was to test telephone customers' lines and locate faults. The record card for each customer's line was kept in the circular drum to the right of the picture. Stafford telephone exchange was moved to South Walls in the late 1990's, after which the Castlegate Exchange was converted for housing.
